COUNT VLADISLAUS DRAGULIA
"Allow me to reintroduce myself. I am Count Vladislaus Dragulia, born 1422, murdered 1462."

Van Helsing::Fandom
Canon ::Canon or OC
::Appearance
Vladislaus is actually quite small, perhaps about 5'9 or 5'10 in his human form, though he dresses in clothes which make him look taller and more imposing. He resembles a forty-year-old in appearance, and is reasonably handsome. His hair is long and black, and he wears it bound up in a ponytail supported by a clip. He is reasonably slender and physically fit. He speaks with a vaguely Romanian accent, and sometimes lisps on some words. His ring finger on his right hand is missing after Van Helsing cut it off in the first time they battled.
When he 'vamps out', he turns into a giant bat-like creature with huge leathery wings. Unfortunately for him, he'll soon find that he won't be able to do that in New Carlisle.
::Hobbies
You want this PG-13? Okay, biting, fighting, turning people into werewolves, uh...showing his ladies how much he loves them, holding fancy masquerades, making a very big family, annoying the church, causing mayhem.
Chaotic, Unholy Neutral::Alignment
::Personality Exploration
Vladislaus is at his heart your traditional vampire. He doesn't hold with religion and hates the Catholic Church bitterly. He doesn't exactly worship the Devil (contrary to popular belief), but he doesn't particularly agree with God either. He can be bitingly sarcastic when he wants to be, and can also snap out with anger and positively growl when things aren't going his way. He has a flair for the dramatics, often milking it when he's minorly injured, he's the sort of person who, if he's writhing and going 'oww it burns', you know he's completely fine really. His theatrical personality also comes out in other walks of his life, he has been known to wear fancy clothes and strut about in them as if he owns the place. He seems to live for sex, parties, blood, and chaos, and doesn't deal well with anyone who tries to stop him from enjoying himself. He can be vain at times, and will not react well if you insult his appearance. He can also be somewhat flirtatious in a manner of how he speaks, to both men and women, though seems to be more interested in women. He doesn't have much of a moral compass, and is instead rather a hedonist.
However, he is capable for all his faults of care. He does truly love all three of his wives and howls when they are harmed. He also feels lonely and deeply wants a family; unfortunately, so far all of his offspring have been born dead or deformed. He does have a very playful side to his nature and can never resist teasing someone, especially the churchey Gabriel Van Helsing. He sometimes will speak in a sing-song sort of voice, especially when calling Gabriel's name (likely because he knows its annoying). In fact, Vladislaus regularly deliberately does things which are annoying just to get a reaction. He's a bit of an attention-seeker at heart and if you ignore him, he will eventually go away to mope.
He can be very bitter and vengeful at times though, especially when people disrupt his plans for a family. Another thing he's bitter about is the fact that Van Helsing has now killed him twice over. In his opinion, that's simply not fair.
::Skills & Weaknesses
Well, he's a vampire for a start, which means he has sharp fangs which he can use to bite the necks of his victims (or willing donors as the case may be) in order to drink their blood, which he needs to survive. He can live without human food and doesn't have a working circulatory or respiratory system. He cannot be killed by any means other than by a werewolf bite because of this. He is otherwise immortal and will potentially exist indefinitely without any further ageing. In his vampire form, he can fly, and has greater physical strength and speed. However, as he is undead, he cannot have living children, something which has caused him intolerable heartache over the years. He can also never gain redemption and enter Heaven, as, as a vampire, he is the spawn of Satan in the view of God. When he sleeps, as he can sleep, he goes to rest in his coffin, and he ices over completely. He is capable of walking up walls and across the ceiling and may do this just to show off. Things like crucifixes and stakes do not affect him, though he may pretend they do just to mess with people.
On the more human side of things, he is an excellent dancer and is reasonably intelligent and well-read, despite never having a formal education. He has no need for practical skills such as cookery and cleaning, as the former he does not need to do, and the latter he does not care to. He seems to be reasonably good at hand to hand combat and, in his human life, was good with a sword too.

::History
Vlad was born in 1422 to the Valerius family in the heart of Transylvania. He grew up surrounded by love and wealth, and became a knight of sorts upon entering adulthood. Unfortunately, somewhere along the line, around the age of forty, he stepped away from the path of righteousness and found himself murdered by Gabriel Van Helsing, suspected to be the Archangel Gabriel in human form. Not particularly fancying spending an eternity in purgatory or worse, Vlad made a deal with the devil to be revived as a vampire. At least, that's what the popular story of how he came to be says, and he has never cared to deny it.
He spent many years in his secret castle, located through an enchanted mirror in his old family home. His once loving family, when they found his coffin empty in the churchyard, resolved to kill him and swore that, if they did not do so, they would never enter peace in Heaven. After that, he began to deal with regular mob attacks on his other, preferred residence at the top of a hill in his family's old village, from where he could feed on the countrymen at his leisure. Growing increasingly annoyed with this situation, he started killing his own family in order to have his freedom to wreak havoc.
Eventually, he found and married three beautiful women, who he turned into his immortal brides. Enjoying their company, he decided that it might be time to start a family. Lots of children were born to them, but to his and his brides' devastation, they were born lifeless and deformed, bat creatures rather than humanoid children. Loving them regardless and wanting to bring them to life, he eventually sought the companionship of the renowned Doctor Victor Frankenstein, who conducted an experiment to bring life to the dead in the basement of his castle. It worked, and his Creature was born, but at that point, Victor refused to work for Vlad any longer. Not wanting to take 'no' for an answer, Vlad bit him and left him for dead. He then chased the man and his escaped creature to a windmill on the edge of his town, scaring away the angry mob which came to attack them. Unfortunately, he was, or so he thought, too late to save Victor and his Creature and take them back to the castle, as the windmill burned down with them still inside.
He continued killing the Valerius family, eventually ending the life of Velkan, the last prince, accidentally when he set a werewolf on him. Now without any werewolf pets, he had no way of torturing his former family any longer, so turned his attention back to reviving his children. He decided to restart Frankenstein's old experiments...this time using living people as the source of power for the lightning to do its magic. This plan was derailed somewhat when Van Helsing came to his kingdom to murder him for a second time (though with no memory of doing it the first time), and he and Anna, the last Valerius, struck down the first batch of his children who came to life.
After that, enraged, he kidnapped Anna and had his wives fly away with her to his summer palace in Budapest. However, while there, he became quite charmed with her, and, as he had lost Marishka to Van Helsing's arrows, he decided that Anna would be a lovely new bride. She was not so enthusiastic, and in due time, Van Helsing arrived to rescue her with the aid of his friend Carl the monk, and Vlad and Aleera, his last remaining bride by that point, had to leave in a hurry in order to avoid getting destroyed by a light bomb full of liquid sunshine.
Back at the castle, scheming resumed. Vlad decided to use Frankenstein's Creature, who was in fact alive and whom he had managed to capture in Budapest, as the conductor for the experiment. Van Helsing, never one to abandon his friend like that, raced in with Anna to rescue him. They managed to free him and kill the vampire spawn which the experiment managed to bring to life, and then Van Helsing, now a werewolf after having been bitten by Velkan before he died, decided to kill Vlad in order for Anna's family to finally be free. Vlad fought desperately for his survival inside the dungeon of his castle, and eventually, Van Helsing prevailed.
As he was dying, Vladislaus became aware of a myst flowing around his body, and he decided to just let himself drift away. When he landed, he was lying in a street in New Carlisle.
