This is a quick guide on how to effectively bring an original character into Van Helsing RP, where the focus is on canon characters.

Original characters from the various canons out there are allowed and can be played here just as easily as a canon character. There are only a few guidelines and restrictions that we ask you to keep in mind and follow.

Original characters from the various canons out there are allowed and can be played here just as easily as a canon character. There are only a few guidelines and restrictions that we ask you to keep in mind and follow.
- Characters must be from the same continuity as the canons onsite - this means that if some of them are AU and some are from the established original canon, you can choose which suits your character better.
- Characters MUST follow all the rules for that particular world. If a race, power, or ability is not readily known or available [or is actually impossible] then an OC will not be allowed to have it.
- Characters may not be related to an OC in any way unless there is a pre-established family member that is not named. In this case it will be allowed, provided the basics of the family genetics/etc. are followed. The only exception to this is if a case can be made for the existence of a character and it will be handled on a case by case basis.
- Characters may not be in a pre-established relationship [romantic] with a canon character. If you wish for a relationship with one, please develop it from the start onsite to make it fair. Friendships may be pre-established, but only if the canon gives permission first.
